About the course
THE NEBOSH International General Certificate has been designed for managers, supervisors, workers, representatives and others who require a basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety principles and practices. It provides an appropriate breadth of knowledge for non-specialists in occupational health and safety to enable them to discharge more effectively their organizational duties or functions with respect to workplace health and safety. Candidates are likely to be employees of large organizations operating ourtside the UK or of multinational companies already working to international standards but needing to adapt these to accord with local needs and practice.
The course consists of classes for 10 days which will be followed by a two day session for examination and practical assessment. Candidates will be expected to undertake private study outside of the teaching time.
The NEBOSH International general certificate covers a range of workplace hazards and methods of control. It includes International standards for safety and health management including International Labor Organzation codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors may form part of the study program where relavant and appropriate
